Central Alabama Golf Association

Welcome to the Central Alabama Golf Association (CAGA) website.

We had an even 100 players yesterday at Timberline GC. It was beautiful day and the course is in excellent condition. Results have been posted on the Results tab above.

Our annual Member's appreciation golf, luncheon and membership meeting on Sep 13 at Arrowhead CC is now booked. Only the first 100 members to sign-up can play golf due to the number of carts, but everyone is invited to the free buffet luncheon and business meeting. I have worked an agreement that CAGA members can play after the business meeting, starting at approximately 2:00, earlier if you want to skip out of the meeting. This will be a simple extension of the morning event to accommodate those who couldn't play because of the cart limitation. Put yourself on the waiting list if you're interested.

The association now has a phone number (334-207-8030) to go along with our website (CAGAGolf.com) and email ([email protected]). The phone has messaging (text) and voicemail. Please use this phone number to contact me on all CAGA-related business.

We also have a new Rules Committee: Hattie Robinson, Turner Clem, Darrell Culverhouse, Bob Rocheleau, Bruce Knapp and Tom Watson. They are already debating several issues. We'll report their decisions as soon as available.

Farmlinks has given us three early t-times so at this time we have managed most of the waitlist. There is room for a couple singles that will be assigned soon.

Reminder: When making t-times, be sure to specify that you are playing in the CAGA Dogfight. Notify me as soon as possible at [email protected] if you encounter a problem and I'll try to fix it. There was considerable confusion at Farmlinks but by the time I was made aware it was too late to do anything. As a result, some people that tried to get t-times long ago are now on the waiting list.

Also, please check dress codes particularly at the private clubs. Blue jeans are a definite no-no at many courses. Arrowhead in particular strictly enforces the "no jeans" rule. Also, collared shirts are required at most all of our courses. The dress code is posted on most club's website.

This is your association. Please continue to help make it better by submitting your ideas. Everything will be considered. Help us spread the word, and bring your playing partners to future CAGA dogfights. Anyone with questions can contact the CAGA Administrator at [email protected]
